REPUTATION: The Ultimate Taylor Swift Show - 10 out of 10
Ella & Sienna
TICKETS: End of Season
Ella & Sienna, sisters from the Adelaide Hills, have
brought their REPUTATION: The Ultimate Taylor Swift Show back
to the Arkaba Hotel for the third consecutive year. By now, every detail of
their set list, costumes, and tech has been perfected, delivering a flawless,
jam-packed two-hour Swiftie experience. Across the afternoon, they pulled off
back-to-back Taylor Swift hits in dazzling outfits, packing in as many fan
favourites as possible.
Throughout the production, Ella & Sienna journey through
Taylor’s 12 eras, from her debut album to The Life of a Showgirl!.
When they first launched this show two years ago, The Tortured Poets
Department and The Life of a Showgirl hadn’t yet been
released, and as new albums have arrived, their set has evolved to include
them. The sisters strike the right balance between fan-favourite staples,
clever medleys, and the occasional vault track, ensuring the performance feels
up to date.
The first mash-up of the afternoon, Love Story / You Belong With Me, was so seamless the transitions were practically unnoticeable, before looping back to Love Story for a powerful dual finish. From the Red era came another standout blend of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together / I Knew You Were Trouble / 22, a high-energy highlight that had the crowd singing along in unison.
Fashion is integral to any Taylor Swift experience, and Ella & Sienna embraced this wholeheartedly with eight different costumes throughout the show. During quick changes, the band showcased their talent: Michael Marino on drums, Freddie Bailey on guitar, and Dylan Paul on bass and keys. Their instrumental interludes kept the atmosphere electric and transitions smooth. Ella’s guitar work and Sienna’s keys added an extra personal touch to the sisters’ dynamic vocals.
The audience, mostly mums and tween daughters, sprinkled with the occasional teenager, provided an explosion of sparkle and energy, adorned in glittering outfits, Swiftie tees, and armfuls of friendship bracelets. Ella & Sienna were delighted to receive so many bracelets from fans, each having an arm stacked halfway up, perfectly capturing the spirit of the show. A few lucky fans even joined in on Getaway Car and Shake It Off, creating joyous, memorable moments for the crowd.
Choreography featured across several numbers—simple enough to perform while singing, yet lively enough to add extra flair and engagement. Having seen their debut show two years ago, I still vividly remember the choreography for Style, which while adapted and refined, remains one of their most memorable performance moments.
As we journeyed through the eras, we were even treated to
the song Ella & Sienna sang on The Voice Australia: Cardigan, featured on
the Folklore album. The afternoon closed with The Life of a Showgirl medley:
The Fate of Ophelia, Opalite, and Father Figure,
before an inevitable encore of Shake It Off. Because really, what
Taylor Swift tribute show would be complete without it?
This reviewer has followed Ella & Sienna since their first original song, Save Your Breath, written about the Cudlee Creek fires in 2020. Since then, they’ve continually evolved and strengthened their presence in the Australian music scene—here’s hoping their upward trajectory continues well into the future.
