TICKETS: Sez - Sorry, What? | Adelaide Fringe - End of Season

Sez holds the stage on her own with this brilliant musical comedy performance. From shoutouts to Jetstar and their $10 KitKat, Ollie the sound tech and dyslexic bisexuals, Sez creates a welcoming environment throughout her performance.

Her earnest nature and vulnerability with the audience creates a strong connection within the first five minutes. With her Omnichord, electric guitar, and microphone, the audience witness her talent of songwriting, singing, and storytelling.

Sez commands the space in a small friendly venue, and her charisma invites the audience to feel a part of the show. Sez’s brilliant delivery and comedic timing smoothly flow into impeccable crowd work, keeping the audience engaged throughout.

Despite having to cancel the first few shows due to vocal rest Sez truly wastes no time in displaying her vocal ability and encouraging unique sounds in the audience vocal warm up. Her acknowledgement that this piece is a work in progress, strengthens our relationship and makes the performance all the better.

Sez taps into Australian mannerisms and culture by displaying a range of vocal and physical choices with her characterisation. Adelaide was included with its own song full of passion and burning fire. Sez draws her own experience of trying to find an ‘Organic Love’ and engages with audience members about how they found their own love online and on the dancefloor. A reflective song about a lonely shopping trolley shares a sincere moment, and each song is a testament to her writing capabilities and is as hilarious and authentic as she is.

Overall ‘Sorry, What?’ is a wonderful comedic piece of entertainment with catchy songs you’ll be singing to yourself on the way home. If you’re needing advice regarding women’s health, dealing with online trolls or how to not feel alone in your aeroplane existentialism, Sez’s show is the place to be. It’s a comedic brilliance you don’t want to miss. Her talent online extends to the stage and she shines bright in the warm ambience of Hell’s Kitchen. Gen Z will love this show and might even get a shout out or two. You’ll be thoroughly entertained and talking to your friends and family about the upcoming star that is Sez.
